Fix a ding in body using steam

Sign in to disble this ad
I remember using a method found on this board to fix a ding in a stripped body using steam.

I would appreciate a link or a reminder.

Thanks!

I just use a damp cloth and iron.

Dampen the cloth with water, but not to the point of dripping.

Place cloth over dinged area.

Use a hot iron to evaporate the water in the cloth over the dinged area.

Sand level.

A soldering iron works well on small areas...with the damp cloth, of course. The best thing I ever found was a crafters' iron at HobbyTown. Model airplane enthusiasts use them to "shrink wrap" mylar skins on aircraft wings.
