fixing control cavity area crack

Sign in to disble this ad
so one of my customers managed to back a car over his guitar that i built. luckily it was in a case and the guitar survived however the knobs took some of the weight and the control cavity area developed some cracks where the wood is thin.

now that that area is weakened i am looking for a solution to repair it. i was considering epoxing a piece of metal to the internal side of the knob area and then reinstalling the electronics.

any other options i should consider?

ouch!!!

can you say "custom pickguard"?

you could still do what you intended...it would definitely be a challenge.

i hadnt thought about pickguarding it. a flamed maple pickguard could be nice. i'll offer that suggestion to the owner.
