Talking Redeemer NeoMagPups anyone?

I built the bobbins and wound the pups for this bass today. These will have exposed poles in the covers. The bridge pup is wound to 12.15k The neck is wound to 11.56k. They should bring the funk indeed! Here's a pic!

Are you just going to use the clear plexi of the bobbin as the top, or is there going to be another cover in there somewhere?

Those look pretty slick!

Thanks guys,

No they will have walnut covers. I'm working on some lexan covers but I'm afraid they will just be dubbed a Q-tuner Rip off. The Lexan is great because you can better see how much wire you have on the bobbin, and since I don't use a counter I can get a much better Idea of how much wire needs to be added or subtracted to reach a certain resistance.

All of the woods have finally arrived for this bass, I should make good progess on this build over the weekend. I've gotten the neck blank glued up and planed. The body core, bottom and top are currently being glued up. The top is even more stunning in person. Here's a pic of the neck.....

Is the maple on the right curly but the maple on the left not? Or is it just the pic?

Just the picture, the figure is light so the slightest angle does that. The laminates were actually cut from the same q.s. board.

The neck is in the process of getting the scarf joint glued up. In the mean time please enjoy some pics of the freshly cut body.

Here is the body top! The forearm relief has not been cut yet, I like to wait and do that after the pup cavitys are routed. Its wiped down to show the figure.

Body Bottom, I book matched the walnut with just a little sap wood to get some nice coloring for this back. The tummy cut will be a bit deeper than whats pictured.

Upper horn with scroll roughed out.

The 3 body laminates with wenge accent veneers, its hard to get a good clear shot of this angle because my camera stinks.....
