If the bridge is screwed down on top of a layer of just leather, I'm interested how it will sound.

Thanks for the input! I was thinking more light of some sort. Not sure what yet. I'm definitely not done with it. The headstock will most likely get a full brass plate etched with some Victorian/industrial design.

The bridge is attached to bare wood. Funny thing though, I figured the leather would tame the sustain a bit. But it doesn't seem to have done so. I'll reserve further judgement for when the electronics are installed. I was thinking a MM$ would be a good choice for a pup too.

Amazon has another plasma ball that is about an inch bigger but I'm not sure where I would put more batteries. It's already not a light guitar. I don't want to weigh it down too much more seeing as I am trimming it with more brass. I still want to be able to play it comfortably.

Still looking for bare brass knobs. If you see any, let me know please.

Look for more updates next week when I do the etching. If anyone is interested in the etching process I'll be happy to post photos. Lemme know.

Peace

I've got some chrome knobs that are solid brass. I've never done it, but I'm sure knobs like that could be filed off to show the brass. They were just allparts knobs I bought years ago...

You should find a way to convert some big lag bolts into knobs, like the ones sticking out of the Frankenstein monster's neck...

Inlay a "skull-moth" at the 12th fret like in silence of the lambs...then put the lotion in the basket...

Pretty cool project!

+1

Obvious Stitching on some of the "skin" would give it some charm.

If you could fashion lag bolt tuners

Or put a lotion on the 15th fret, a basket on the 17th and a hose on the 19th...
