I have a FirstAct ME105 that I bought on eBay for $68. If you are not familiar with it, it has a P bass configuration and is a short-scale bass. I just put a new neck on it that is too thick where it meets the body so my bridge screws that control the action are at their top limit. Is it possible to plane the surface that will contact the body to bring it down? I'm going to buy a Schaller bridge with the 1/8" spacer to help out, but I like to rest my thumb on the pick-up and it seems a bit far right now. My other modification that I plan on is to put an EMG Select P in there. Any additional thoughts on how to do these mods properly would be appreciated. Adam Christopher |
