fretboard and side LEDs: Alternatives to SIMS?

Now that I am not in the UK anymore, and SIMS pricing for LEDS seem to have doubled since I last checked and + shipping it would be too much to make it worthwhile.

Does anyone know of alternatives that are not fretfx, glow dots etc but proper LEDs installs?

I think many luthiers here could take care of that stuff, expecially in the USA. If you search "LED" in this section you'll probably find many threads about that and a few tutorials. Just contact the luthier that does it the way you like.
