Glue Question

I've some some searching but can't find the exact answer I'm looking for, so here goes.

I have a 43 year old instrument where the hex nut on the truss rod is completely gone. I've removed the rosewood fretboard, the frets, the old binding, and the truss rod. I've decided to go with wood inlays and wood binding once it's assembled back together. I also plan to make my own wood binding by laminating different types of veneer together. The fretboard is actually in good shape and only needs some minor filling which I'll do once I have some rosewood dust collected from the initial sanding.

To summarize what needs to be glued;

1) Veneer laminate for the binding.
2) The binding to the fretboard.
3) The fretboard to the neck.
4) Rosewood dust paste for filling.
5) The new frets (possibly).
6) The new nut.

Can one type of glue handle all of the above and if so, what would be the best? Or are different types of glue recommended depending on the operation?

Good God another glue question!

1) Veneer laminate for the binding.
Titebond, elmers CA or hide it really don't matter. What ever you are comfortable with.

2) The binding to the fretboard.
See #1 above.

3) The fretboard to the neck.
Hide. No if's and's or but's. Learn how to use it and you too will be a convert.

4) Rosewood dust paste for filling
Don't do it! It will look like crap and won't last for an hour of play. Sand it down or let it be.

5) The new frets (possibly).
CA if you need to but only if the frets are lose. Friction is your friend here.

6) The new nut.
A well fitted nut does not require glue.

Them's my opinions and I am sticking to them.

I know there are allot of glue questions, but there are so many different opinions and I didn't find anything in the "stickies". In any event, I appreciate the reply.

Glue is one of those hot button issues that can get us builder types all red in the face and clenching our fists for some reason. I think it has more to do with the fact that people new to this ask the question as if there is one answer and those with experience know there are only pro's and con's to every type of glue. We want to answer definitively but can't. It's frustrating.

LOL...I can understand that. Unless I missed it, I was quite surprised that there isn't a Sticky that lists all the types of glues that are typically used by luthiers. It would be a good resource and should include the pro/cons, applications, and links where to buy product. Besides, other than wood, it's probably one of the main ingredients needed to build or renovate an instrument.

If you do a search like I originally did, you don't quite get answers that get to the point, hence you have to post. Most of what you get when you do search is who "glued" this part to that part .
