Gluing up the wings (A bass is born)

Sign in to disble this ad
Well, I worked on shaping the horns tonight and have glued on the body wings. After a night of drying I will have a stringless-fretless bass.

Here are the pictures. I need to find someone with an oscilating sander. to clean up the inner parts of the horns or I will be left to sand it all by hand, not fun.

Slight bump from center to wing. It'll be sanded down later.

Large horn

Little horn

Let me know what you think

Striking fingerboard, mate!
About the body wings: I think you had to sand them while they were still "free"... it will be harder after you glued them on IMHO.

Thanks. I got lucky with LMI on that one.

Yeah, I did most of the shaping with them off. I will end up using dowels and such to get in the tighter areas. I'm sure I may be cursing myself later.
