Good string width for a 6 string 33" scale bass?

Sign in to disble this ad
Ok so im finalising my specs for a singlecut 6 string with a 33" scale. But im not sure about what is a good string width to have on a 33" scale bass. I have a 5 string that is around 16mm spacing which is fine (its a 35" scale).

I was thinking of going for 17mm or 18mm spacing for the 6 string, but would this give me a very wide neck on a bass of this scale?

draw it up, using your nut width and string spacing, you can draw it out at 33" from nut to bridge, and find what suits you the best. Nut size will directly effect the neck width at the last fret so take this into note.
