hello, talkbass! well, i have an interesting conundrum: does anyone know suppliers of electric banjo parts? i am doing a project, and seeing as i cant find a person willing to wind custom pickups, i need premade, and i also need a bridge. any leads would be much appreciated.

Is it a special kind of electric banjo? I googled "banjo pickup" and found tons of them. Not sure if the regular ones won't work for your project. And the bridge: is the bridge on an electric banjo different in some way?

I found one on Fishman's site

http://www.fishman.com/products/acou...nt-pickups.asp

Here's what it says:

Banjo Pickup
Our second generation banjo pickup features a quiet humbucking coil, a powerful neodymium magnet assembly and a specially designed preamp to strengthen and preserve the natural sound of the banjo. Fits dual coordinator rod instruments and may be modified to fit single rod banjos. Professional installation is recommended.

Hi.

What on earth is an electric banjo? Care to elaborate?

If You mean a slab, any blade type pickup will work and I believe I've seen individual bridges for guitar so those will work on a banjo too. Or You can use any piece of quartersawn hardwood to make the bridge.

For more clues, more help

Regards
Sam
