Having someone sign my bass

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi guys,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this question, or if it's even a valid question but....I have a great gig coming up with a bunch of artists I've always wanted to work with and thought it would be fun to have them all sign my bass after the concert.

I just want to have people sign it on the back of the bass, which has a sunburst nitro finish. I'm curious as to what I can use to have them sign and how I can protect it after so that I may keep gigging the bass without it rubbing off. Any suggestions?

sign with a silver sharpie then apply clear coat yourself or have a luthier do it. clear coat would protect the signatures.

Have you thought about whether or not it's cool to ask these people to sign your bass? That may be considered pretty gauche in my experience.

That being said, a company called Edding makes lacquer based paint markers that are supposed to be good for this kind of thing.
