Hey everyone, I'd like to get into building basses!

Does anybody know of any luthier schools in the northwest of UK, preferably near to Liverpool?

Thanks a million!

Matt

Thumbs up Luthiery Schools in the UK

The line "We don't need no education." comes to mind.

Last year, when I contemplated studying abroad, I looked for schools in the UK with luthiery courses, or at least arts & design courses. The Manchester College of Arts & Technology has a 2- or 3-year part-time course. I was thinking about going there if I ever get to study abroad.

There's also the Leeds College of Music.

Also, you should check out this page. There's a big list of such schools in th UK.

i thought about goin to guitar buildin school. but it was gunna cost about 10k. i decided to spend the money on tools and read how to's on the net. i also scored a job at a local woodworking shop. so now i can gather some more carpentry knowledge and have access to tools i could never afford.

Both have killer grad programs. And I played basketball for the former. Undefeated.
