I'm making progress. The body is ready for the finish.
I did the final shaping of the body before I glued the top on.
With the edges of the Mahogany taped off to avoid staining from the squeeze out I epoxied the top on.
Trimmed the top with a bottom bearing trim bit.
The edges were radiused with a 3/8" round over and the sides and back sanded to 320.
With the top piece taped off I applied black grain filler to the Mahogany. Used Stewmac's Timber Mate filler. This stuff is great. Water based, dries fast and sands without loading up.
Final sanding to 320.
All cavities and holes are routed and drilled.
Decided to go with the Seymour Duncan SCPB-3.

I like it! Very cool how you puzzle-pieced it together! That's rock 'n roll!

Where the heck do you guys come up with these old explosives boxes?

Thanks guy's but I have to give credit to Dark Horse and Scott at Grove guitars. There are some very creative minds on TB!

When I first saw one I had to build it. The crates can be purchased on ebay, dynamite, whisky, and any other crate.

The "puzzel" is from the corner joints of the crate.

And again thanks to Dark Horse and Scott.

The finish has been applied. Nine coats of Target clear coat. Four days to completely dry and I can start putting it together.
