Hollow shortscale acoustic/electric bass

Hi You guys! It's my first post here by the way so I've got lots of questions.
I'm thinking of get custom build bass guitar that will be sort of gretschy/upright while being hold like electric bass guitar rather than an upright...
So:
1. I don't like any brightness in my bass sound so i'm thinking wenge neck with rosewood fretboard AND
2. String I've chosen are Rotosound tapewounds (Roto Tru Bass I believe) BUT I'd like to get a set for five string and toss out the thinnest one , since the scale would be short - 30" or 30,3". I've heard that tapewounds and especially Rotos are ultra-low tension so I think it wouldn't hurt the neck (if the tension is too great I'd downtune full step)
3. About downtuning - short scale means lower tension as well as tapewounds, therefore i need them to be heavy gauge.
4. I'm not sure about what woods to use for body since it would be huge hollowbody.
(As far as pickup in the neck location ala Gibson EB0 or Gretsch neck pickup - it will be customwound by luthier in my town)
The tone and feel I'm chasing for is upright, deep, bassy tone without any brightness, and the short scale is because i'm rather short and have really small hands and fingers (for a man)
To conclude - what do You think about my custom project? What would you add/change? Thanks for the input
