Is it correct to grade with "AA" lumber that does not have figures at all?
Is there any other methos to rate the quality of the wood?

I'm not sure what "AA" is?

Generally, hardwood ratings are FAS, Select, 1, 2A, 2B, etc., and
the ratings are based on the size of boards, knots, inclusions, splits,
wormholes. They don't have anything to do with figure.

The ratings are there to give you an idea of how much usable
wood you're going to get from a board, not necessarily how the
end product is going to look.

I only use two grades wood I like and wood I don't.
Most of the AAAAAAAAAA systems are subjective one mans 5A is another's 3A and vice versa so I find it mostly useless.

All those A's are just a way to take more money from your pocket.

The number of A's directly relates to the customer's reaction when they find out how much it costs.

$120/bf? AAAAAAA!!!
