5A in reference to what? there is no industry standard for the 'A' factor. what one builder calls 3A, another calls 5A, and another calls the same figuring 7A.
as reference, the birdseye fretboards I use are considered 'standard birdseye' by me. I no longer buy into the multi-A marketing hype that is prevelant in the industry today
if someone was to insist on a "5A" birdseye fretboard I could always install one for an added cost, but you'd be getting the same highly figured fretboard as is my standard ... the added cost would be imposed by having the fretboard blank graded prior to use. a total waste of $$$ IMO
when you talk with Larry, be sure to describe the coloring, birdseye size, and figuring pattern you're looking for. with this info he can get you a killer board that will be perfect for your project
all the best,
