I need a nut...lolz

Im geting a new neck but it dose not come with a nut. Can someone help me fined one? It needs to have a width of 1-3/4". I am willing to mod the nut if I have to. Someone help please.

Not to be facetious, but I'd try virtually any music store anywhere. That's a common size...

Sorry to derail. But how would I go about putting a new nut in?

If you have a precut factory nut it is pretty straigt forward. Carefully remove the old nut. I usually use a small punch/hammer and drive it out sideways. Clean the channel, test fit add one drop of Krazy glue and seat it in place. If you have to cut your own it is a lot more trouble, (use the old one as a pattern).

i need a new brass nut. waiting n a reply from Ray Rogers, who built my bass about measurements, then my local GC guys said they would order it and install it. they all like it whenever i bring that bass in, so its cool.
