Jazz Bass block Inlay Template

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi,
Wondering if there is a template for the block inlays for a jazz bass, (for routing or painting) somewhere. I suppose it could be in PDF or image format or wood blocks maybie? but I haven't found anything.
Any ideas much appreciated.

most guys make their own, it's all about the size you desire. rarely do the builders on here stick to fender block size, some are a little bigger, some smaller, it's all about your eye.

If you really wanted to, you could just order a set of the sticker inlays and use those for a template. $12 is all they cost shipped.

Do you already have your inlays? If so lay your inlays on your fb and trace with an exacto knive, then remove your inlay and use a chisel to deepen the cut. It makes it much easier to router them.

I've built a bass from rough lumber club #2 (I'm pretty sure).

I just put them on my squier tele neck...they went on pretty easy. I can feel the edges of them...so I'm not sure how I'll like them when playing. I haven't played with them on yet though because I'm not done with my bass. Once I am, I'll play with them for a few weeks and give a review somewhere.
