After a lot of careful planning, I was able to get all of the electronics into the control cavity and also have the knob layout match what the customer wanted. The next photo is of what the ramp will look like with the various veneers showing. Last is just the front and back after sanding, still a lot more sanding to go and bit of ebony stain touch up on the fretboard to make it more uniformly black.

Very cool design, I rate the colours you have used.
Nice clean lines on the back from the neck to the body.

I was able to get a hard case for the bass, perfect fit. Also, frets are in and being filed down now. Just waiting on my inlay source for the headstock inlay and truss rod cover inlay. Then it's oil/wax time.

This is a really cool bass! Have you ever found and off the shelf gigbag that fit this shape?

This is my first with this body shape, but it fit just fine in the gig bag from the store. I went with the hard case for added security.

Wow... that is honestly all I can say! I'll be sure to post some videos of the bass in action! I keep telling my bandmates about this amazing custom bass I'm getting, I can't wait to see the look on their faces when I show up at the gig with this!

Janek Gwizdala is actually one of my favorite bass players! I based alot of design ideas off of Janek's 5 string Imperial, Gerald Veasley's signature Ibanez 6 string, and one of Carl Thompson's many masterpieces:

Thanks everyone. I won't know exactly how the frets worked out until I string it up, but they are dead level without any leveling!

This is just pure art! If someone wants a bass like this, what will the price be?

I've got a lot of work ahead of me with all these parts!

Just received word the inlays are done and in the mail. So I should be able to get them in soon and start finish sanding and then finish.

Very nice, clean and detailed build... congratulations! Only two things I don't understand: why did you glue the body wings to the neck blank before you shaped the back of the neck?
And second: why did you put the frets in before putting the inlays in? Just a different way to make things but I'm curious.

Thanks,

I kept the neck square so that it would give me an area to attach the clamps to. If it were rounded, they would slip off easier.

I did all the fretboard inlays before putting the frets in. The new inlays I am getting soon are a headstock logo and truss rod cover.
