Kit help

I know that this probably doesn't necessarily pertain to lutherie. And a kit is not guitar building. However, I didn't really know where to go to ask this question.

I want to build a bass for a good friend from a kit, so she can essentially pick out as many features as possible. She really like the MM style of bass. I haven't been able to find many options via the normal way of looking (Google). There's just one kit you can find on eBay that fits the bill and I was just wondering if there were other options. Thanks, guys!

The kits offered by Carvin are pretty widely considered to be the best available (if not cheap) and i'm pretty sure they can be ordered with musicman style humbuckers

I build parts basses ... I did one kit ... Parts basses are more fun. You can get all sorts of different parts, and if you have a dremmel tool and a router then you can adapt parts to fit together.

I went to Bass pro shop and to my surprise they didn't have a single bass guitar.
