The League of Extraordinary Luthiers - Thanks TB!

I'm sure everyone has read the mikeyswood thread by now, so I won't go over that saga again.

What I would like to do is to thank everyone who supported me an helped me out to resolve the matter in some fashion.

On top of that list are the luthiers who have made the amazing offer of building me the bass that Mike was supposed to.

JC (musiclogic) came to me with the idea, and to say I was humbled by it would be a massive understatement.

The people I thank with the utmost sincerity (the collective I now refer to as the League of Extraordinary Luthiers ) are (in no particular order)

JC (musiclogic)
Andrew (mrarose13)
Mark (Hammerhed)
Phil Mailloux
John Worrell
Marko (MPU)
Reticle
Jason Rickett
Beauchene Implements
devo_stevo
Big B

I hope I haven't missed anyone!

Whether this will turn into a build thread or not, I do not know. I don't expect it to be a very busy one if it is, as most of the guys pitching in are building instruments for their customers first.

The specs are very exciting and the bass will be built by a number of people across the world with JC finishing up the wordwork and Phil doing the finish and setup here in Australia.

Neo neck pup by John
4 coil bridge pickup by Marko
EMG piezo saddle
Hipshot tuners
38" scale
Sub E tuning (octave lower than standard)
Audere preamp
Full length cocobolo fingerboard
Cocobolo top
Neck is yet to be determined, but expect more than a 3 piece
Insane laminate body wings (I'm sure Andrew is wetting himself waiting to post his work up!)

The shape is modelled on the Pagelli Marleaux and will look a little something like this

Thank you once again, gentlemen. I owe you one.

Beautiful bass. And a beautiful response from a very fine community. If this doesn't restore one's faith in humanity, nothing will.

HA! I wouldn't say “wetting myself” but I am absolutely elated to be working on this project with other such extraordinary talents from around the world.

I’ll start with the ruff layout pic

I’ll let everyone take that in for a min. It’s kind of nutty and all the lines get a little confusing, I’ll be back with some details later, Talk with you soon.

You're looking at the back in Andrew's drawing. No neck dive with an upper horn that long!

That's an image from the back (and upside down), It will have a full top (shown at bottom of the horizontal layout)

The horizontal layout is like looking at the butt of the bass face down, as if you had flipped it to work on the back. Dose that help Mark?
