I can't wait to see pix of the pickups. I'm having trouble visualizing the extended pole concept.

Are there any pickups like this available anywhere, it is this something you guys have created just for this build?

Rip

I imagine its just like a regular strat pickup with staggered pole pieces, except they're all high instead of just the center ones.

The pick-up build starts on Pg.6 post #116 and was custom built for this project by MPU. Very nice work I might add.

Beauchene Implements - that FB is sweet, I think it will complement the bass quite well.

Yes, I have Marko's pickup, and it is very cool, John Worrell is making the other pickup and should be here soon.

@Rip. Imagine a Dimarzio With the set screw pole pieces you can adjust(see DiMarzio model J) xcept these set screws are about 1" long so the pickup can be mounted and the poles will be adjustable for sensitivity closer or further away from the fingerboard.

That's an awesome concept. Is there any company that makes one? Other than maybe Atlansia?

Build #2? I would hate to see another person get screwed by that asshat, but I do have a stack of wood and a brand new CNC machine if need be.

Wow if that's a serious offer you guys are really amazing. I've been waiting 4 years now and have already paid for a bass in full. It wasn't anything as complex as Alex's but apparently he is incapable of painting a bass white so he offered to build me a second bass for free after like 2 years of waiting for the first now it's two years since then and he just told me he'll be routing the cavities for that second bass. Which was fine I guess but after seeing Alex's thread I'm very worried I'll be out a big chunk of money or get crap when he eventually does finish this bass.

Hey folks, I'm talking with HydrasBreath via PM about some stuff.

If everyone goes into lynch mob mode again, we risk getting a very positive thread shut down.

You might like to look forward to a "League of Extraordinarily P**sed of Customers" thread, however. HydrasBreath, and I (perhaps steps too) may have the numbers to do get some proper justice from Mike now that this has come to light.

Sally, I'll be starting with pcs in the next week or two, we are still waiting on a couple things, but essentially I am good to get going on this soon. I am catching up on my work then I can start in on Alex's bass

Just so everyone knows, John pick up arrived safe and sound, looks very cool, will be doing a test on the positioning for the 2 pickups over the next week or so, then I will start on the neck and tapering the body wings for the build.
