Locking Nut Question

Sign in to disble this ad

I'm missing that double sized clamp thing in the middle, and I cant seem to find one seperately, So...I think i'm going to try and make one to use for the time being.

Any ideas on what material I should use? the guy at the music store suggested using a coin and my dad said I might just get away with hard plastic(like a CD case or something)

Any other suggestions?

Basically it just has to be hard, cutable and I have to be able to drill 2 holes in it

I'd use aluminum but thats what I have laying around. I would also drill the holes first and then cut to size.

I don't know anything about seven string guitars, but couldn't you just get two of the singles and grind off just enough of each for them to fit? You might be able to keep from chipping the chrome off if you're careful.

You might just head to the hardware store and get a couple of small washers. If you could find stainless they polish up really nice.

thanks for the suggestions guys.

I had a look in the garage and found some random washers that seemed perfect for the job. Had to do a bit of grinding though.
