I think I may have got a good deal, for the first time at least.

Each panel is 8x20x.225". Total cost with shipping $52.

So, was it a good deal?

Also, I am just too tempted to plane off some of the top of my headless build for this top (Currently Cherry).

Looks nice Jason - make sure its dry, that can sometimes be an issue with eBay lumber. To be on the safe side, let it sit for 4 months or so, stickered & weighted down to avoid cupping.

Yeah, good call Erik. i'll give it a good look over when i get it. Maybe i'll just go ahead and check the weight every couple of days to see if there is any extra moisture in it.

Got another one to go with it.
Looks like the first might not be long enough for my bass (around 21"), I'll keep it and use it on another future project.
Each panel is 26 1/2" x 9 5/8" x 1/4" @ $60

The good thing is I need a hair over 24". I'll keep the first one clamped down for awhile, store it for a bit.
My spector euro has close to the grain and figure of this one.

Got this from Meads and son Hardwoods on ebay. Mmmmm, claro walnut. Think I paid 30 bucks for it. As soon as I can make up my mind on headless hardware, this will be split and become a bookmatched top for build number 2.

Just noticed these guys are no longer registered sellers on ebay...

I honestly go by the wood. Most of it comes from the northwest, but the wood I scored in the preceding post actually came from New York. (the Maple that is).
