I live near Detroit and would prefer a source here in MI, but I am also willing to ship the instrument if need be.
This bass is constructed with a swamp ash body, center body laminate of purpleheart with a Nigerian satinwood top. The neck is curly birdseye purpleheart with 2 stringers of wenge and a center stringer of pau amarello. The fretboard is curly maple.
The bass will need the frets taped off and the nitro finish on all surfaces including the swamp ash electronics control cover. |

| | | | Possibly Mike Koontz.
Ferndale, MI.
There's a guy around Big Rapids, I think, that does nitro but I can't remember his name. |

You need to find someone with a spray booth, and absolutely nothing else to do. |

| | | | The guy in Big Rapids is called Guitar Hospital I think.
He did a refin on a 65 jazz bass for Bassplayer magazine a few years back.
You might be able to google this and get his name and number. |

Just stay away from the store itself unless you're truly immune to GAS

Plus they carry those cardboard upright bass kits, they're great fun
