Looking for a 'tracing' of a 50's tele bass

Hi,

I'm looking for someone with an old tele bass who would be willing to 'trace' the outline of the body of the instrument and the neck if possible.

I'd happily cover the costs to ship me the traces... the result would be CAD drawings which I'd be happy to share for other folks who'd like to make a homebrew.

I'm in the bay area and would happy to pick them up as well.

dude, the 51 has the exact shape outline as today's fender p, and the neck iss shaped like any other neck. make it a p or a j neck. witchever you prefer. all you need to learn is the routings. it's a top routed, and i think warmoth can fill in the blanks there if you e-mail them. the rest is just buying parts and putting them were they go. 34" scale. pretty standard. ebay almost always has the 51' pup and bridge covers. if you really want to go vintage style, than get a bridge cover with a mute.

Thanks man! I'm planning to build these from scratch.. all of it. We've done teles from tracings... then, what is nice is we can make a cad file and put the blank on the cnc machine....

but I need a tracing to start or else i have to buy a body to trace it...
