Sign in to disble this ad
Hey now,

Interested in getting some routing work done and wondered if anyone had suggestions for the Central Virginia (Richmondish), Raleigh/Durham, Greensboro area??

I wrote Phil at Philtone and he is willing and able but a 6 hr drive...looking for a bit closer without shipping.

Thanks

Sorry, I'm not much help. I live on the East side of Virginia (Hampton Roads), and don't know of any other builders around here either. I just have to experiment on my own. I think Wilser is in Virginia somewhere but I'm not sure where. Good luck with the searching, but why not do it yourself?

Bishop Stern is a great guy in the Charlottesville area. All the music stores around here use him. His # is 434-832-7837. He did some routing for me a long time ago on a guitar and did a great job.

Also there is a guy who has been advertising on Craigslist named Sunny w/ Sunny Skies Guitar's. Don't know anything about him though. His email is sunnyskies@mail.com.

Larry Smoak is in Fairfax Station, which is toward the southern end of Fairfax County. He does great work and can make pretty much anything.

He may be too far away, but he might be able to recommend someone closer. Wilser might also have a recommendation.

Hey all,

Thanks for the suggestions. Bishop Stern looks like he may be local to me judging by his number. I'm in the Lynchburg area about an hr south of C'ville.

My personal do it myself "experiments" have not gone well. I also don't own a router outside of a dremel so the price alone would prob. be the price of getting a pro to do it.

Thanks a ton for the names
