Major battery drain problem

Sign in to disble this ad
My daughters bass (Samick sakb6690 I think) has gone thru 2 batteries since buying it about 2 months ago. I figured that the first one was just a cheap battery that came with the bass, so no big deal. But now the new one is dead. I know about the "don't leave the cord plugged into the bass" thing, but thats not the case. Is it a bad wiring job that could be causing it? Thanks for any help you can give me. Andy

It could be a bad wiring job. Basically, it sounds like the preamp is finding a way to drain battery power at all times. Normally, the battery ground is completed using the sleeve of a mono plug. If the ground is being made some other way, the battery can be drained at all times.
