Maple fretless board - touch up with?

70's fretless neck, some spots worn down to bare wood. Presumably I can spot-fill, radius-block with fine grit paper, then buff out - right? Anyone happen to know what current poly products most closely resemble 70's Fender poly?

Realized this would be better off in a different forum. Mods: feel free to delete.

The truth is, it isn't as easy as sanding the spot and just refinishing that area. It will never look the same as the rest of the 40 year old poly finish. Your two options are to refinish the whole neck, or just live with the worn areas.

I'm more concerned with function than aesthetics in this case, so a 100% cosmetic match is a "nice to have" rather than a "need to have". I'd also like to keep this on the repair end of the spectrum rather than full restoration.
