Decided not to chamber the body..bass weight is just under 10 lbs.. this is some of my best work yet..went with bartolini narrow soapbar pickups... tung oil / poly finish....

I too thought this was interesting. I suppose the reason for this being increased tension for the B string?

Well, despite others opinions or what side of the bed they got up on, the option to string the B string through the body is on the OP's bass for a reason.

I understand the whole sustain and tension theory with string through is subjective to other variables of the bass, obviously there's still folks around that find some value in this practice or it simply wouldn't be as prevalent as it is today.

That looks great! I'm digging the use of the burl, and the dark maple at the center of the back. The only thing I'd change would be to ditch the purpleheart nut. In my unasked-for opinion, it sticks out like a sore thumb and is very distracting.

Wow!!! That is the first single cut I've ever liked. Love the headstock as well!
