mm pickup positioning

Sign in to disble this ad
from the 12th fret, how far away is the edge of a music man pickup (in its sweet spot), on the pickups edge facing the neck? from the 12th, facing the bridge? thanx very much. been looking fover to find this out with no answers

It looks like he's saying that the pickup is placee either 30.5" or 31.109" form the nut. Given that the difference is only .6" I wouldn't worry too much about it. Slightly closer to the bridge will make it a bit more crisp, closer to the nut will make it a bit mellower.

***EDIT*** I'm guessing that means nut-side coil is centered at 30.5" from the nut, and the bridge-side coil is centered 31.109" from the nut...

I can't believe I didn't notice that before.

Yeah, unfortunately when I posted that, the compression made it fairly illegible. It is 31.109 for the bridge coil, and 30.172 for the neck coil.

I put mine at 90% of the scale length. If the bass is a 35" scale then the center of the pup is 3.5" from the bridge saddles.t
