mockingbird bass body?

Sign in to disble this ad
Ok, I know this is a long shot, but well.. U never know .
Has anyone ever seen a mockingbird shaped replacement body for bass?
Bc rich has a custom shop but I'm looking to make a basic bass with some custom graphics on it, like the guitar in my avatar..
A cheaper, simpler alternative would be buying a cheaper mock and refinishing and modifying it, but a new body would spare me the cost of stripping the old finish, and allow me to customize nut width,pu routing..
I know it's a long shot, but these days, u never know.

Warmoth USED to make them along with many other B.C Rich designs
until last year so you could probably find them used. Warmoth is probably going to be better than a B.C Rich.
Other than that I don't think anyone makes them.
You could get a friend to make a tracing of a Mockingbird they have so you have a template...
Good luck!

I bought a warmoth mockingbird bass off ebay about a year ago. At the time warmoth stopped selling the bc rich shaped bodies. It came in the warmoth box and unfinished (raw wood with the pours unfilled). I still have yet to finish the project. It also came routed for a mm humbucker and drilled for a Gotoh 201 bridge.
