Modding my bass

Sign in to disble this ad
I wanna do alot of mods to my bass. Right now, I am planning on changing the electronics. Firstly, it's a mexican standard. The bass has three potentiometers on it. They are, left to right, A tone, (Bridge) volume, and a (Neck) volume. It is passive. I want to make it have a (left to right):

Tone (Whole Bass), three way switch (positions: bridge, both, neck), and a Volume. It will also be passive. The potguard may not fit the three way, but I plan on making a diamondplate potguard for it anyways.

Another problem is the wiring of the pickups. It has three wires coming from each pickup. (Which is wierd). It has two blacks, and a white. I don't understand the purpose of the wires. I think that two of the blacks are ground, which I figured out from the schematics at:

Any help is appreciated!
