Montana gold spray cans

I'm doing a P project and finished the body with an awesome turquoise color and the can of clear that I got (same brand of color coats) says that there is a component used that is known to cause cancer in the state of California. Should I avoid using this kind of clear? Idk if it applies to vapors produced while spraying or constant contact after curing...

Or am I just being too paranoid? Haha.

My brand of Lawn mower "is not for sale" in California.

You should be fine if used correctly.

Move to a neighboring state and it'll most likely just cause emphysema

Get your self a respirator or breathing apparatus, should lessen the chances.

Yea, agree with Jason, a good vapor mask, even the $6 3M disposable vapor mask from Home depot will give you a good base for protection. Good ventilation while spraying is another necessary practice. Contact once the finish is cured is not what the warning is intended to convey. The warning is conveying possible harm from "prolonged" exposure to the solvents and vapors. Once it's fully cured the solvents have dissipatedn. Thus the hazard is null.

Alright sweet, thanks guys. I'm new to this whole painting thing, and have been doing it outside, so I'm not getting fumed and I'm in Oregon anyways, so California cancer warnings don't apply

And I read the can at midnight so my line of thinking wasn't ideal when I created this thread haha. Maybe I should just stop getting on TB after 11pm:P

If you stay on TB for just thirty minutes more after 11PM - that's when the party starts.

If you don't actually eat the paint or breathe the fumes intentionally, you should be OK but you can never come to California until you get a clean medical bill of health.

Everything causes cancer in California. If you are worried, use a double filter respirator mask. I do when I'm using nitro lacquer. That stuff really stinks and is definitely bad for you.
