Moses Single Cut 5 Neck Thru|Lumber?

Sign in to disble this ad
This project is about dad, Moses. He came from the US Virgin Islands.

So of course I want to use lumber from different islands. I've got:

Spalted Mango Core-Hawaii
Koa Top-Hawaii

Need suggestions for the back and neck woods. Or is there a definitive resource for woods from geographic locations?

Can it be a wood from any island then?

I live on Vancouver Island and Bigleaf Maple is an indigenous tree here...

Thanks everyone! Nope doesn't HAVE to be from the Caribs. Just an island.
What I got so far:

Koa top

Spalted Mango body

The Koa will be the top. I dunno what will be the back or neck lams yet.

It'll be fretless. Twin Delano pups. Thats all I know right now.

Thanks Again

I think an ebony board would look killer with those woods.

Isn't Madagascar an island off of africa? Isn't everywhere pretty much an island? Trying to keep it more 'tropical'?

Caribbean Walnut, Also known as Peruvian or Tropical walnut, and is a South American wood. Don't knock people from Detroit, it's not always their fault they live there, they just haven't earned enough money to move...LMAO

Well it looks like my "island" idea will have to be expanded to "tropical".

Ebony is a great idea!! Thanks.

I was laid off 4 times in 3 years before I said ("f" word) while living there. And the winters...OY!

Plenty of room to grow out here! It's 80 and sunny by me. Best move I ever made was Detroit -->Vegas.

Musiclogic. I'm thinking AZ might be next move. How is it there?
