When you guys use more than one truss do you run them parallel to center or parallel to the taper?

Route 'em before tapering, that way I can still get a nice roundover on each side and still keep it thin (I've done mostly "D" shaped necks). I used hot rods on my first 2 basses, switched over to the LMI dual action after that. If I need to run anything with the taper, I'd use cf rods, that are a not as deep as the rod slots. |

No matter what I did I couldn't get that neck straight, it always had a slight bow, not what you want on a tapper. Anyway with 1 tr and 2 cf's (I use 3/16" cf rods) I find it easy to adjust and the neck and it really stays in place. http://www.dragonplate.com/ecart/pro...ID=687&cID=102
These are the ones I use.
On a 12 string tapper I built I did use 2 tr's and one cf. it was easy to adjust as well, but that neck was 4" wide at the nut.
I hope I was able to give you a good answer, I was trying not to be too confussing.
The other thing I've been doing is to have the tr adjustment at the bridge end and the cf's going all the way to the nut, it works really good for me. |

I have been using just the one in my builds a la BC Rich and I am now building one in the Alembic style. Duals and cf's will be some new tricks for me to add.

Someday I hope that someone will follow though and put some money down so I can build one. All of my builds are speculation of sale. |
