Musikraft/supplier suggestions for vintage P neck

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm starting a project to build up a (sort of) vintage P clone and trying to decide the best way to get a great neck made. I'm pretty sure about the specs I want (rosewood board, 10" radius, 6230 frets, 1.5" at nut, single action truss rod, no reinforcing bars), but the main thing - maybe the hardest to achieve? - is finding a supplier/builder who will custom select (assuming an upcharge) a great piece of stable maple to start with, especially b/c of the vintage specs on the construction re:truss rod and no reinforce bars. From their website at least, I really like the vibe at Musikraft - i.e. small, Fender lic., attention to detail, etc. But I know Warmoth, USA Custom, etc. are all well-liked suppliers too, though I don't know if they'll build a neck w/out reinforce bars.

Looking for any advice/suggestions on Musikraft and/or others. Maybe somebody knows of a custom builder to consider? Would like to keep the neck under $400.

Thanks.

I think you're out of luck with Warmoth. You could try talking to the guys at USA Custom Guitars...they seemed very helpful and quick to respond when I contacted them a few months back.
