I worked on doing some body plugging today, still have to add some meat to the horns and reshape. Going to use my routing sled to reduce the thickness of the body next. Cutting out the chamber router templates is on another table to get done.
Forgot to add that I've have $00.00 buck in this thing. Also added the hair pic, just taken after my tail was cut off and sent to Locks Of Love.

A little sled work to get front and back surface squared to the sides and plugs leveled to surface. Just used some maple and pine i had laying around. Next next is to do some chambering. Cost so far is still $00.00

Got my routing template made for the chambering operation
Drilling out the excess wood
Routing went good, but needed a longer template bit or thinner router plate, to get the depth I wanted. Body thickness now is
1 1/8th"

Gluing a 1/2" Baltic birch ply to build the total thickness with the top/bottom will be 1 11/16".
Routed the ply to meet the body shape
Removed bracing from the top/bottom and sanded flat
Glued the bridge piezo disk in place
Glued the top in place
Routed the neck pocket, glued neck piezo disk in place, routed the rear cavity.
Next process is to glue the back on, and shape the headstock, then get everything ready for finish. I still have $00.00 dollars in this build.

This competition has really turned on the creative juices and is really inspirational. So many cool projects are coming to light. This one and moonshine's are my current faves.
I'm really diggin this comp. Maybe it should run quarterly instead of annually! |

The second is mounted in the neck pocket and is sandwiched by the neck. The plan is the put them on a blend pot.

Clever, clever idea to glue the acoustic top in a chambered body.
I'm wondering how those piezos are going to sound like! Will you post soundclips?
