Custom one piece Walnut body, with a Schecter neck...

I am almost done...I need to rewire the controls, and fit-up the control cover, and put on some knobs... Oh... I know that I messed up the neck pocket... This is my first build.

Looking good and man, that walnut is amazing! Might I asked where you got it?

Thank you for your comments.

I bought the walnut from Kettle Moraine Hardwoods here in Wisconsin. I am extremely lucky to have a great supplier like this within a 15 minute drive from my house...

here is a picture of the slab...

The body shape really complements the neck/headstock well. What are the controls, volume/volume, volume/blend, or something completely different?

I just used Volume/Volume... I used the harness from the donor guitar and I still need to tidy that up a bit.
As far as the body shape I was really influenced by Jerry Garcia's Alembic for the upper horn... The lower horn sort of fell into place... and thank you for the nice comments.

That is one nice piece of wood... I have to think it's a bit on the heavy side, but you knew that going in, I expect.

The neck - ordered as a separate part, or taken from another bass?

It isn't as heavy as I initially thought it would be, it has a really nice balance.

I had a Schecter that I really hated the body on, so I made a better one. (I think)
