Hi guys.

I bagged a rubbish old stagg bass from my guitarist fir free and have decided to refinish it, making it, for all intents and purposes, my dream bass!

No before pics I'm afraid, completely forgot to take one.

I've not done much yet, but I've started by rubbing down the poly finish:


And the first coat of (car) paint on the top of the body:


I'm going to let this dry overnight, and then start on the rest of the body tomorrow, before moving onto the second coat for the top. I've never done this before and was wondering if I would need to do a sand in between coats?

Also, does that neck pocket look like a standard four bolt to you? It seems to almost go down into the body too far, but I have no other basses here to compare it. I'm planning on finding a neck on ebay, and painting the headstock to match the body.

I'll update as and when more gets done.
