Hi
I thought I'd like to share my Mørch bass project with you guys. Johnny Mørch is a legendary luthier, who've been making basses for 4 decades (sic!)
Bass is gonna be his classical "curl model"; 5 string, neck-thru, ebony fb (fretted), chambered mahogany body with flamed walnut top, RMC piezo, 2 custom pickups
Bass ordered medio may. ETA for bass: medio november
First, pictures of the neck :
(don't know how to make the pics bigger ) |

On his website morch-guitars.dk, there's a lot of examples of his builds. A lot of his customers have had him make their original designs, and the results are somewhat mixed IMHO.
Here's a couple of pics of the neck; sanding the fretboard, and inlaying the side positions markers.
The neck wood is maple with two wenge stripes.

Notice how the design has evolved. It's great to eventually have two basses built by the same man with 35 years between them! |

Nice bass! |

I'll post clips when the new one is finished medio november. |

I bought mine second hand just a couple of weeks ago. |

Notice the backplates of mahogany, the same as the body.
The battery cover is held in place with tiny neodymium magnets.
