Punchy growly believe it or not.I was playing in a cover band last summer and I broke a string on my Jaguar, luckily I had this on back-up.I didn`t plan on using it in a rock format, but my friends said it sounded better than the Jag.
The one thing I`m proud of is how acoustic sounding it is unplugged. It will sustain forever.I`ve never heard a bass ring for this long after a note is played.

thrilling process to see unfold
if I missed it sorry but...
what are fret dimensions and composition
given the high quality of your work would be interested to know
the thinking behind your fret decisions

also did you happen to weigh the finished padouk body?
the reason I ask is as I'm sure you know padouk offers incredible mass
my build-no where as sophisticated as your's-a j bass clone has a padouk body who's finished mass, before any wiring, neck etc, weighed more than a finished, strung Fender equivalent. I built mine knowing I would be playing seated-how heavy is your finished bass?
thanks

yeah a J Bass is alot thicker.Thats the reason I did a carve-top.The Back is Mahogany and I have Wenge and Purpleheart surrounding mahogany.Total weight of bass is 8.5 lbs.Balance is perfect. No neck dive. It`s a 34" scale with stainless-steel jumbo frets.

Thank you for the kind compliments
