Neck Joint Construction- Effect on Timbre

I was under the impression that a neck-through construction produced more energy in the fundamental than a bolt-on construction.

Regardless of what makes "good tone", have others noticed this effect on timbre?

That's (often) true. Neckthroughs have in theory more sustain and less harmonics (because of less energy dissipation). Less harmonics = more fundamental

I never thought of it quite that way, but it makes sense.

Sure, my picture is way oversimplified, but anyway, all this stuff is governed by the law of physics - resonances, masses, tensions, energy transfer and dissipation and so on...
