Need advice: perloid fingerboards

Yes you read it right, i am very fascinated by this and my search for information about it hasnt been very productive. This is how Hagstrom used to make some of their guitars back in '59

I am wondering how to do this, any ideas?

That's pretty easy... you just have to sand the wood down and glue the pearloid material on... that's the easiest inlay job in the world!

Funny enough i just has an idea right after clicking submit reply, those stickers that look like peraloid might work, but what im really intrigued about this is that it might have been done with pickguard plastic.

Like what material? can it be purchased in those kind of dimentions?

Im not a builder, just an aficionado who is interested in manufacturing guitars so i dont know anything about where to buy materials or anything so im pretty much looking for direntions here
