Need advice from you guys!! thx

I just got my new custom 5 string fretted 2 days ago, and yesterday I found out that both mics are placed a bit out of the center of the bass.

I've seen many basses with mics that are not quite centered, but In this case, B string is a bit far from the magnetic action and I can notice a bit (really small) lower volume in this string.

My brother and girlfriend said they can't tell the difference in volume, but they don't play bass. Besides it's hard even for me to notice a volume difference, because most of the variation comes from fingering. After playing quite a while today I've made myself sure of this problem.

Anothe thing is that as a thumb rest, mics are a bit low compared to other basses I have tried.

My doubt is: should I got to the manufacturer and ask for a fix or this isn't much of a big deal?
I think a fix for this means a bass body replacement maybe. They cannot just move the mics, can they?

Really worried about this, since I plan this bass to be my main for a long time. Looking forward for your good advice form you guys,
Thanks in advance!

No Expert, but

You could take the cover off one of the Pickups, and see if it has blades, or if poles, see how they line up under the strings.

Can't see the whole neck but what I can see suggests that the bridge should be moved to the treble side a bit. Looks like the strings are too far north for my playing comfort. Solve two problems with one fix. Could just be parallax in the photo though.

I agree that the bridge is off center. It isn't a huge fix, but I would take it to place of purchase and ask for either a replacement or a fix.

Also.... they are called "pickups" not "mics", just so ya know!

I don't know why keep thinking that those are pickups for a 4 string bass

No way; if anything, they are for a 6-string bass, or a wide-spaced 5.

In english, yes. In many other languages, "mics."

I'll go today then, and ask for a fix. I don't think there would be much trouble to replace the body or a fix if they know a way...

I think that replacing the bridge will leave the holes for the already placed screws.

Thx for your opinions! I guess I'm not the only one who sees this a little twisted. I was not sure if it was apropriate to go there and protest for this thing.

btw, I don't know what would be correct word in spanish for "pickups" (my main language) but we say "mics", or pastillas" (pass-tea-yas). I guess "electro-magnetic transductors" are way not convenient for the speech
I'll post news as I have 'em. Cheers!!
