Thanks! I am definitely glad I did not rush back into production as I was in pretty much constant pain in my right arm, shoulder and wrist after getting hit. No way to work the equipment or tighten clamps. It sure feels good to be back at it.

I'm hoping to get a singlecut prototype started shortly as well, and will post photos of that bass as we go.

Are you using yellow glue to fill the truss channels?

Mikey-

I think you're seeing yellow glue to hold in place the carbon fiber rods.

Body glue-up.

We looked at four possible bookmatch options for the customer's chosen top and both concluded that this one takes the cake (my wife liked this one the most as well)

Yep...with pickup covers to match. The red will really POP on this spalt.

Glad you found this thread, I was just about to email you the link. You will fall in love with this top - the spalt line matches the curvature of the body precisely as if they were made for each other.

You've got these mad skills and you want to see what I do with an old Peavey Fury? This thread just jacked up the pressure on a first time refinisher!

Hey that bass has more sentimental value for me than anything else in my fleet! That bass was the one I learned to play on when I was nine years old and in the jazz band...playing with a young female Kelly Kapowski-esque drummer that would become "wifey" 20 years later. I'll be watching to see what you do with the ol' black beauty, that's for SURE!!!

That's probably the most adorable thing I've heard all week

On topic, that topwood looks incredible. Keep up the good work!

Thanks! We were the original rhythm section, right up there with Moon & Entwistle and Starr & McCartney. I've got pictures I'll have to dig up.

Layout templating. For all you newbie builders, I strongly recommend using this approach!
