New Luthiers Bass

Hello, I live in Argentina, and I want to know if the basses from the luthiers are good. I like the Aria SB1000. Can a luthier build a bass similar to that Aria ?
I ask this because I don't know the quality of Argentinian Luthiers.

It might help if we had the names of any of the luthiers you are considering.

I would find it very hard to believe that a half decent luthier in any country couldnt match an Aria .

No offense Meatrus, but have you seen one? That's a very fine example of a bass - made to be a poor man's Alembic. Exotic woods, neck through construction with super tight tolerances, custom alembic like humbucking pickups and preamp. Its no POS, they are fine instruments by any standard...

To five significant figures - I agree.

True. I still have seller's remorse from selling my Aria some twelve years ago.

Check out Daniel Fernandez in Buenos Aires,Argentina...who,in my opinion, is probably the best luthier of exotic multi-laminate body basses on Earth. http://danielfernandezluthier.blogspot.com/ http://www.fernandezluthier.com.ar/english/home.html

+1

I love his headless basses, but they're a bit pricey.
