First of all...this one's a guitar.
The next one will be a bass - I promise!
Here it is
Hope this doesn't violate CUP by pointing to my site.
I'm really just excited about this guitar!
The back and sides are 1/8" thick - sides are a 5-layer laminate.
Neck block is W.Red Cedar with a veneer skin to match the sides.
The top is braced lightly, with an intentional soft spot.
This gets a soundpost which braces it to the back.
By varying the length of this post, the top can be pre-stressed
to different amounts, and flexing more or less under the string
pressure, which loads it differently and (probably...haven't heard
it yet) changes the sound. It sure changes the tap tone
considerably.
Love to hear your thoughts!
(Though I'll be away from my computer until Monday...)
Peace,
Martin
