New Rebuild

OK, so I just finished rebuilding a Squier P Bass my friend gave me because it had a warped neck, and I was broke. It was playable, barely, and so to me it was better than nothing. Then, I decided to see if I could fix it...

Here's the list of changes... I'm sorry now I didn't take pictures during the process, but believe me, it started out rough...

Sanded down the old, thick metallic forest green finish.
Glazing putty to fill the various holes, scratches, gouges, etc.
Carved out a double battery compartment under the pickguard.

Painted with PPG auto paint, color matched to Dodge Surf Blue Pearl Clearcoat. (I stole the color scheme from a 2008 Charger Super Bee) Primer, sand, color, clear, sand, polish, etc.

New Mighty Mite neck.
Polished bridge and tuners.
Custom matte black pickguard.
new EMG active pickups, pots, wiring running 18V
Schaller strap locks.
Hipshot chrome string retainer.

A set of new strings, a setup, and here is the result... thanks for letting me share.

Not that I have a lot of experience with a lot of basses, but to me it feels like any 4 string p bass, weight wise. A little heavier in the neck, maybe. The body wasn't particularly heavy, by itself.

Certainly not heavy enough to be a concern, but I am a pretty big guy, so I don't think about it too much.

Thanks VinKreepo,

I liked the blue so much I painted my speaker grills with it, too.

Now if I could just afford the matching car...

You could buy a Hot Wheels and paint it, too...
