New Stingray Neck

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm looking to build (or have built) a new neck for my Stingray. Great bass and all, but I play in dropped tunings with it and just don't like the feel of a 34" scale. I'm thinking that I'd like to do a 36" scale neck, but 1) I've never built a neck before and 2) I'm sure my fretting ability is less than perfect.

Would I be able to have a 36" scale replacement neck built for about $300? Or would it be more cost effective to build my own and send it to one of you guys for the fret install?

I'd like it done cheap, but I want it done right.

Thanks for the information, guys. And if anybody here wants to shoot me a PM with a price quote, feel free to do so as well.

Yes to both.

If you look through the builders you can get an idea of who to pm.

Necks are typically ~$50ish in materials and ~$150-250 in work.
